The computer department has a mission to cultivate a vibrant learning environment that fosters innovation, prepares students for successful careers, and contributes to the advancement of computer science and its applications. Guiding principles is a commitment to lifelong learning.
The computer science curriculum for classes I to VIII, ICSE, and ISC generally progresses from foundational concepts to more advanced topics. In the early years, students learn basic computer literacy and programming logic. As they advance, they delve into programming languages like python, Java, data structures, algorithms, databases, and computer networks. The ICSE and ISC curricula build upon these foundations, often with a greater emphasis on programming and specific technologies like object-oriented programming.
The ISC Computer Science curriculum for Classes 11 and 12 covers a broad range of topics, from fundamental concepts like Boolean Algebra and Object-Oriented Programming to more advanced areas like Data Structures and Algorithms. Students will explore programming in Java, learn about computer hardware, and delve into ethical considerations in computing.
The department provides opportunities for students to code, build, and experiment with technology and connect computer science concepts to real-world problems and scenarios to make learning more relevant. We encourage students to work on projects that allow them to apply their knowledge and develop problem-solving skills, incorporate activities where students think individually, discuss with a partner, and then share with the larger group. There is regular practise of incorporating non-computer activities to introduce concepts before moving to coding, making learning more accessible. This not only engages students in discussions to encourage critical thinking but it also aids in deeper understanding.
Our team consists of qualified computer professionals who have served for over a decade in the field of computer education, fostering logical thinking among students. The department is not limited to teaching but also explores new possibilities for using computers to enhance the school environment.
Attended various workshops which are as follows :
1. Future Readiness Summit 2.0 organised by Mersion
2. Scratch workshop to improve the computer teaching skills organised by Kips Learning solution Pvt Ltd.
3. Professional Development & Capacity Building of Teachers conducted by Prof. (Dr.) B.L Handoo.
4. Workshop of AI orgnised by Goyal Brothers
5. Attended various training organised by the Council.
The students from time to time, have been a part of competitions, both within the walls of the institution and beyond, bringing laurels to themselves and the institution. They have been participating in the international competitions organised by CMS, Lucknow on a regular basis. They have always made a name for themselves in Cyber Olympiads held annually.
The department of Computer Science in Children’s Academy is committed to make sure that the journey of excellence initiated, goes beyond it’s expectations by preparing students to face the tech challenges of the twenty-first century with grit and confidence.
We are committed to take our students to a journey of discovery and growth, fostering a vibrant, collaborative learning environment where every student’s potential is nurtured, challenges embraced and achievements celebrated.
